Championship play-off hopefuls, Reading, are showing interest in Everton midfielder Muhamed Bešić, according to The Telegraph.
The 28-year-old is still contracted to Everton, although he hasn’t kicked a ball for the Toffees for over a year now. The Bosnian has spent time on loan at Middlesbrough, before joining Sheffield United last season where he only managed 9 appearances.
Bešič’s current deal is set to expire in the summer and it’s certain that he will leave Goodison Park.
The report states that the Royals had been keen on the no-nonsense midfielder in the January window, but a deal could not be agreed in time before the deadline.
Veljko Paunović’s side are still in the mix for promotion, they sit one place and two points outside the play-offs spots with five games remaining. It remains unclear if the Royals’s interest in Bešič would hold should they be promoted to the Premier League.
Bešič seems to be a forgotten man at Goodison Park and for the sake of his footballing career, it seems he needs to depart as soon as possible.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international failed to make Carlo Ancelotti’s bench in the 0-0 draw with Brighton on Monday night, despite the fact Everton were faced with numerous midfield injuries.
There doesn’t seem to be too many suitors for the 28-year-old this summer. But, provided they can keep him fit, Bešič could defiantly be a decent addition for the Royals whether that be in the Championship or Premier League.
