Joey Pelupessy is wanted by multiple Championship clubs according to Voetbal International, but the player is keeping his options open and has not decided his future yet.
He has started eleven matches for Wednesday this season, making 41 appearances across all competitions.
Eredivisie side FC Groningen are reportedly ready to offer the former FC Twente man
The Dutchman is reportedly also attracting attention from clubs in both Turkey and Holland.
With his contract set to expire at the end of June, he could be available on a free transfer – provided a new deal isn’t agreed with the Hillsborough outfit.
Pelupessy has been at Wednesday for over three years and has made over 100 appearances for the Owls but his future is in doubt. It is believed he is yet to make a decision on his next destination.
Many Wednesday fans believe that Pelupessy’s time at the club is up and that he should be ready to move on. He has begun to feature more frequently in recent months but it will not have been enough to warrant a new contract and he will be expected to leave this summer.
A few weeks ago, Pelupessy spoke to Yorkshire Live and said he feels at home in Sheffield.
“Sheffield Wednesday is always an option for me because I really appreciate that they gave me the opportunity to come and play in England more than three years ago.
“I never forget that.
“I am really happy at this club, I really feel at home here.
“I have nothing to complain about.
“I am happy here.
“If they want to talk about the future, I will always listen.”
FC Groningen are reportedly ready to offer the former FC Twente man a route back into Dutch football. The Eredivisie side are said to be keen on securing Pelupessy on a free in the summer.
